Clemens Emin Bosch, Eskiçag tarihi alanindaki akademik kariyerine Almanya’da baslayan en verimli olabilecegi bir zamanda Yahudi esinden dolayi Almanya’yi terk edip Istanbul’a göç etmek zorunda kalan ve buradayken —görünüste de olsa— Islam dinine geçip Emin adini alan bir Alman bilim adamidir. Yaklasik yirmi yil Istanbul’da yasayan ve burada ölen Bosch, daha çok antik numismatik alaninda yaptigi çalismalarla taninmaktadir. 1946 yilindan itibaren Side (Pamphylia) kazilarina katilmis, gerek Antalya Müzesi’nde bulunan, gerek Side kazisinda ele geçen yazitlar üzerinde çalismis ve yayinlar yapmistir.
Clemens Emin Bosch was a German scholar who began his academic career in the field of ancient history in Germany and left his country for Istanbul because of his wife’s Jewish beritage at a period which be might have been very productive as an academician. When he was in Istanbulbe apparently converted to Islam and took the Turkish name Emin. Clemens Emin Bosch, who lived approximantely twenty years in Istanbul and died there, is widely known for his studies in the field of ancient numismatics. He joined the Side excavations (in Pamphylia) which began in 1946 and studied and produced publications on the inscriptions preserved in the Antalya Museum and on the inscriptions found during the Side excavations.
